The Curly Haired women of America threatened to boycott Korbel Champagne because of this commercial. They felt that the scene where the curly haired women acquires straight hair with the Korbel magic, gave the impression that straight haired women were more attractive. This quote is from the Korbel forum at the time. 'Many curly haired women are angered by this commercial (and are also boycotting this product). This commercial starts out ok (good music nice effects) but once the woman's hair changes it becomes totally weird. It sends a message that women must 'improve' (especially if their hair is curly!) It is strange that ONLY the women's hair changes and once that happens she is totally elated. The man doesn't change in any way.'
